Hattan House occupies one of Niagara-on-the-Lake’s historically significant residences, originally constructed in the late eighteenth century and rebuilt following the destruction of the town during the War of 1812. The restoration repositions the historic property as a boutique guesthouse while preserving the restraint and character of the original home.
Interiors balance a quieter sense of luxury with the architectural weight of the residence itself. Historic elements were retained wherever possible, while contemporary interventions were introduced through a restrained material language, layered textures, subdued tonal contrasts, and carefully controlled lighting intended to create an atmosphere that feels intimate, moody, and enduring without becoming theatrical.
